Consecration to Mary

Consecration to Mary

Daily Consecretion Prayer

My Queen, my mother, I give myself entirely to you, and to show my devotion to you, I consecrate to thee this day, my eyes, my ears, my mouth, my heart, my whole being without reserve. Wherefore good Mother as I am your own, keep me, guard me, as your property and possession. Amen

“An indulgence of 500 days”

Act of Consecration to Mary by St. Maximilian Kolbe

O Immaculata, Queen of Heaven and earth, refuge of sinners and our most loving Mother, God has willed to entrust the entire order of mercy to you.  I, (name), a repentant sinner, cast myself at your feet humbly imploring you to take me with all that I am and have, wholly to yourself as your possession and property.  Please make of me, of all my powers of soul and body, of my whole life, death and eternity, whatever most pleases you.

If it pleases you, use all that I am and have without reserve, wholly to accomplish what was said of you: “She will crush your head,” and, “You alone have destroyed all heresies in the world.”  Let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands for introducing and increasing your glory to the maximum in all the many strayed and indifferent souls, and thus help extend as far as possible the blessed kingdom of the most Sacred Heart of Jesus.  For wherever you enter, you obtain the grace of conversion and growth in holiness, since it is through your hands that all graces come to us from the most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

V. Allow me to praise you, O sacred Virgin.

R. Give me strength against your enemies.

How to Pray the Daily Marian Consecration?

1. Prepare

  1. Find a quiet spot. Light a candle or place a picture/statue of Mary if you like.
  2. Make the Sign of the Cross.
  3. Offer a very short turning-to-God: e.g. “Lord, I turn to you. Forgive my faults and help me to be honest today.” (1 sentence is enough.)

2. State your intention

Say silently or aloud: “Today I renew my consecration to Mary. I want to belong to her and to be led closer to Jesus through her.”

3. Pray the consecration slowly, line-by-line

Use the simplified prayer. After each short phrase pause for 4–8 seconds and follow the suggested mini-reflection/offering.

My Queen, my Mother, I give myself completely to you.

(address Mary; imagine placing yourself in her care.)

Consciously offer yourself your day, your worries, your failures. (Example inner phrase: “Mother, I am yours.”)

To show my love and devotion, I dedicate to you today my eyes, my ears, my mouth, my heart, and my whole self without holding anything back.
For each organ say a short concrete offering and brief intention, e.g:

  • Eyes: “I offer my eyes to you – let me seek goodness; keep me from what harms my soul.”
  • Ears: “I offer my ears – help me listen to truth, avoid gossip.”
  • Mouth: “I offer my words – let them build up, not tear down.”
  • Heart: “I offer my affections – let me love what God loves.”
  • Whole self: imagine placing everything – plans, talents, fears – into Mary’s hands and say: “Take all of me.”
Pause after each offering and breathe.

Therefore, good Mother, since I belong to you, keep me and protect me as your own possession. Amen.
Ask Mary to keep and protect you today. Finish with a clear, heartfelt “Amen.”

(If you like, finish with “St. Joseph, pray for us” or “Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.”)

4. Optional short closing

  • Pray one Hail Mary (or three Hail Marys) as a short act of entrustment and offer it for the poor souls in purgatory.
  • Or pray one decade of the Rosary if you have time.
  • End with the Sign of the Cross.
