Jesus in the Book of Genesis

Jesus in the book of Genesis

The Book of Genesis is often read as a record of beginnings – of creation, humanity, sin, and God’s covenantal dealings with the patriarchs. Yet, beneath its ancient narratives and poetic imagery lies a deeper, Christ-centered story. Though the name of Jesus is never explicitly mentioned, Genesis quietly and powerfully points toward Him.

From the first promise of redemption after the Fall to the patterns of sacrifice, blessing, and deliverance woven throughout its chapters, Genesis lays the foundation for the coming of Christ.

Here are 23 instances in the Book of Genesis that prophesy, foreshadow, and point to Jesus.
